Responsibilities of Green Volunteers (Also known as Green Ambassadors):
DIY Clean Up Green Ups: Green Volunteers can take action to clean up bio-wastes from where they live, work, and play year round. With a bit more time and research, you can also undertake your own Green Up by selecting a location to remove invasive plant species and improve biodiversity by planting native plants, shrubs and trees.
Grow To Give: G2G food donation program is all about positive action for the community. Green Volunteers come together to plant, grow, harvest and donate fresh, healthy, organic produce to local food banks. Green Volunteers often work alone or in pairs and can expect to get dirty. Green Volunteer Activities include planting vegetables & vegetation as well.
DIY Kids Go Green: GVs should ideally enjoy and have experience working with children. GVs are a substitute teachers / awareness provider groups looking to spread valuable experience leading to engagement programs – able to conduct fun and educational Kids Go Green workshops. The workshops will be provided to school and community group children, ages 4 to 12.
Green Volunteer Activities in DIY Kids Go Green include: preparation of program materials, lead informative and fun workshops, post workshop clean up, program evaluation (with Coordinator’s supervision).
GIY (Green It Yourself): Greenliness can be spread through awareness about Sanitation & Healthy Lifestyle habits like usage of bio-toilets, sanitary cleanliness & hygiene. GVs are the Greenliness teachers / awareness provider groups looking to spread valuable experience leading to engagement programs – able to conduct GIY workshops.
